What is HabiBayan (HB)?
HB is designed as a virtual network of Overseas Filipino Workers and Overseas Filipinos (OFWs/OFs), weaving together their collective experiences to transform the power of migrants into positive collective actions for the country and inspire and motivate other OFWs/OFs.
HB aims to reach a much wider audience of OFWs/OFs and eventually their families to find ways to make a bigger impact not just for themselves, their families but also for their communities back in the Philippines as well for as for the country and even their host societies.
HB can provide a platform to track and determine what kind and extent of the impact the diaspora is making, beyond the usual anecdotes looking at Savings, Investments, and Giving (SIG) data from OFWs/OFs demonstrating the lasting impact these SIGs can make and stories of social innovations and social enterprises of OFWs/OFs.
Our Mission
We believe that the collective power of overseas Filipinos can create transformative change both in their adopted homes and in the Philippines. Through strategic collaboration, innovative financial solutions, and community-driven initiatives, we're building a network that amplifies the impact of every contribution.
Our platform serves as a bridge connecting migrants, investors, philanthropists, and changemakers, creating opportunities for meaningful engagement and sustainable development across borders.
About Us
We are the Consortium on Migration and Development members, Volunteer Teachers and Resource Persons, core secretariat volunteers, and alumni of the Ateneo Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship Program for Overseas Filipinos and their families, who are networking together with a goal of gathering and interconnecting on the ways to mobilize Savings, Investments and migrant-Giving back to the Philippines.
